Take Two

Second post of the day after a very long hiatus. I have been mainly focussing on school and not much else. I feel like I'm constantly lost in the whirlwind of being behind in notes and assignments and labs. The end of the (school) year is creeping up again and I can feel the tension building. I am starting to get really nervous this time around because Chem is really confusing and math is just math. Reassuring to have picked up the past two math assignments and find that I didn't flunk. The Chem lab exam also went by pretty flawlessly I have to say. Couple of hiccups of the skills tested which sucks and maybe not the best write up but that is over and done with. Very relieving to finally get one past paper back and find that I did pretty decent. I know that we're supposed to go拜山 the weekend before my finals start but other than that, it's cram time from now till then. Worry worry worry. On the side (cuz you always need stress relievers), I've been crazy about a korean reality show called The Return of Superman. I'ts pretty new and it only airs on Sundays but it's about four celebrity dads in charge of their kids for three days. They usually go on outings with another dad and his kids and I find it really amusing. The oldest kids are are a pair of brothers, Junu and Junseo, and I think the older one is 12. They're pretty self sufficient which is a really nice variety from the youngins and they're really good kids. There's Tablo and his daughter, Haru, who may just be the most adorable, fish loving, boyish, and spoiled little girl out there. Tablo is part of a guy group called Epik High with two djs, and up until I started watching, the only thing I knew about them was that he was signed with YG Enteretainment (Big Bang) and performed as batman villains during the 2012 MAMAs. Wow, I sound like such a nerd. Anyways, I started to pay more attention to them all because he is the sweetest guy to his daughter and just seems like an awesome dad. He's pretty young and I mean, pretty much a rapper so....it doesn't get cooler than that (jokes, but you get my drift). More about Epik High in a bit. The third dad, may just be my personal favorite most of the time has twin toddlers (Seojun and Seoeon). I think they celebrate their first birthdays on this weeks episode and life with twins seems pretty rough. Regardless, he does a fantastic job and it makes it all the more amusing. It's not just funny to watch but it really emphasizes the lows and (sometimes even super) highs of raising kids. The last father is a japanese MMA fighter married to a famous japanese model (but he speaks Korean). Together, they have the most adorable little girl named Sarang. The dad is this big, dark, bulky guy with crazy hair and his daughter is tiny and silly and fearless and eats like an animal (An honest description and not meant to be offensive at all). She just eats and eats and eats and giggles and runs around all day long. All in all, it is so precious to watch relationships grow and maturing. On the side, there's a lot of stuff and attractions revolving Korea and Japan. Great for hour and a half of brain relaxation and laughs.

Along with the show, I've been a little crazy about Epik High and Davichi's music. Epik High makes really kind of dark music but it's usually fast and poppy which I like. It has proven to be really grreat when needing to zone anything out and take notes. Davichi (girl duo) on the other hand is super mellow and pretty much everything the sing is a ballad. Best of both worlds. I found out Tablo is fluent English and has a couple full English tracks. He got kicked out of St George's in gr 9 but graduated from Stanford. So much respect for such an all around cool guy.

Went for a Mr. Brownstone burger and a beer having never tried the place last night and it was delicious. Whoever came up with egg cracked in an onion ring over another onion ring over, caramellized onions, patty, and beef/ham and veggies was a genius. Watched Buried with my home girl after doing some math to wrap up the night. Didn't have huge expectations even for Ryan Reynolds, being stuck in a box for an hour but ended up borderline nauseaus and mind blown. Pretty good acting on his part seeing as he is the Only face you see. However the plot ends up pretty devastating. Not what I expected at all and kinda left us chilled. Americans and terrorists and scary things =/.

Will leave it at that for tonight. Bummed aroud for most of the day. The only productivity of the day was getting up to run in the rain this morning. Didn't make it exceptionally far though because I had to be home to teach. But by far better than nothing. Made myself a smoothie that ended up being a giant cup of green foam which was pretty icky. Bed time ish. Gotta get up to work tomorrow. I offered to cover the past two Sunday Indoor Playground shifts along with this week. It's pretty chill and the kids love the bouncy castle so I just supervise. Also the kids are younger than the ones from Action Kids so it's really awesome and cute.

Night night! (but really I have like half an episode left....)
What about my feelings? What about respecting me? How is this a one way street??
